Buying
Anyone who registers in advance can bid at Baran. Every work is on view for three days, offered in catalogue order on the evening of the fourth, and sold in open auction at the final hammer price.

Clause 7
Only registered bidders with a bidding number may take part. There is no limit on how many works you buy, but owners may not bid on their own works.
Complete the in-person purchase form and bid in the salesroom on the evening of the sale.
Complete the remote purchase form and we call you during the sale to bid on your instruction.
Complete the commission form with your maximum and the auctioneer bids for you up to that figure, then pays for and collects the work on your behalf.
Register before the sale to receive your bidding number.
Register to bidEach work carries a low and a high estimate. Bidding usually opens below the low estimate and rises in fixed steps.
The price is set in open bidding, at the final hammer price.
With the owner's consent the reserve sits below the low estimate; without one, a work may sell at or above the low estimate.
Showing your bidding number when the hammer falls forms a binding contract of sale; the final bidder must buy at that price.
